I didn’t make a video yesterday, but I do want to share with you what I did to be kinder to myself. It’s something I do once in a while, but I definitely need to do more often because it makes a massive difference to me each time I do it. It was as simple as this…
I went out for a walk in my local park with a friend at lunchtime.
I stepped away from the computer screen and took some fresh air and some time to relax and catch up with somebody who means a lot to me. We both work from home; a lot of time is spent in front of the computer screen – tight shoulders and all that kind of thing – and also quite isolating… it can be very isolating working on your own, at home, in front of the computer, even if you’re connecting with people online, you do really miss that face to face contact. So, by stepping away from the computer, meeting up with each other and going down to our local park, we were able to stretch our shoulders, swing our arms, wander out in nature, take some deep breaths and enjoy the fresh air and the scenery. And also, really connect and catch up, talk about the things that have been frustrating us in the morning; talk about the things that are exciting us and just really shake up the energy, spend some time together, connecting out in nature and then we both went back to a much more productive afternoon.
So, that’s the one simple thing I did to be kinder to myself yesterday.
I will talk to you soon.
p.s. Can you find someone to take a walk in the park with? Just ten minutes away from the computer screen, connecting with someone face to face can have a big impact on your happiness and productivity. Please share your thoughts, your experiences and leave comments below.
