Turning my bedroom into a sanctuary

This morning I woke up and decided that the kindest thing I could do for myself was to turn my bedroom into a sanctuary. So it begins… with the before video…

I am making my videos from my bedroom today and there are going to be two of them – a before and after. The reason I am here is that although my bedroom is not too messy – well, you’ll see in a moment – it’s not the lovely calm, relaxing sanctuary I would like it to be. So, I’m just going to show you round; show you how things are at the moment and then hopefully come back to you in a little while with a bit of a transformation.

So, to be kinder to myself today, I’m going to remove the clutter from the bedside table, fold the washing, get the toys back to the boys’ bedroom, get rid of these things for the charity shop, clear up the pile of Lego and clothes, sort the trainers and the shoes out and remove iron tablets and necklaces and bla bla bla from my bedside table and sort out all these clothes.

So, this is where we are at the moment and hopefully I will come back to you shortly with a bit of a transformation.

Bye for now!

Well, here it is… the after video…

Hey there,

So I am back in back in my bedroom now, having decluttered and cleaned it and I am just going to quickly show you round so you can see how I’ve transformed it from a slightly messy space to the lovely calm sanctuary I wanted it to be. So… I am just going to spin you round to my favourite poster right there – it makes me smile every morning. I absolutely LOVE colours… I love colours in the house, I love colours in the bedroom and although most of my walls are quite neutral, I think colour definitely makes a difference to how I feel, so I do love having these colours on my bed to wake up to in the morning.

So, as you can see, the bedside table is nice and clean and clear now; I’ve just got my little crystals and my salt light right there. I hung my duvet out on the line this morning to dry, so that’s got that gorgeous fresh air smell to it. My gorgeous friend Dorna – my fabulous yoga teacher – suggested I bring a plant into the bedroom, so I’ve put that little beauty there on the bedside table. No more clutter on the floor, so that’s all good.

This is my bedroom sanctuary where I will definitely be enjoying some very peaceful nights’ sleep over the coming weeks.
I will speak to you soon.
Bye for now.
